A dedicated Non -Governmental Organization (NGO), based in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded in 2018 as a not-for -profit entity, and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Certificate Number CAC/IT/NO 122050. Scent of water is an institution that is global in it approach to the conduct of its business and activities. As it seeks to address the issues of financial inclusion of the bottom poor which do not have access to big financial institution to access fund to run their small trading and micro productive activities in many parts of Nigeria. This is based on a profound belief that:
1. Poverty can be eradicated or reduced to the barest
2. The socio-economic status of 62% of Nigerians; mainly women and the girl -child , currently estimated to be living in extreme poverty and without access to traditional forms of financing, can be raised
3. The above can be achieved through the provision of micro -credits, micro -savings, micro -insurance and acquisition of basic skills with the potential to generate income , such as sewing and dress making, hair dressing, computer learning, bead making, shoe cobbling, cosmetic production, soap making etc.
4. The provision of basic and effective training in skills such as customer service & management, elementary fund management and accounting techniques, etc will enhance their capacity to manage, save and effectively channel the income they generate.
